When COVID hit, we quickly learned that it was to have a huge impact on our much loved Holiday Park. It was time for myself, my wife and our team of loyal staff to rev up our fighting spirit, as there was no way we would let this monumental wave take us down.
Our dream began some 20 years ago, to own fishing lakes and a rural holiday site that offered high quality, camping, caravan and woodland lodge holiday stays.
We wanted this dream to sit in the heart of the country with easy access to the adventures that can found in the Peak District as well as having good access to the adjacent cities of Derby and Nottingham.
Each and every year we’ve been lucky enough to reap the rewards of welcoming 100’s of fishermen to our 6 lakes and thousands of families to stay at our stunning rural retreat. We’ve always offered people the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, as well as the chance to explore new surroundings and seek new adventures.
The buzz of the park and people enjoying the glorious surroundings we are proud to call home makes it worth every bit of effort to grow and improve our dreams. We are proud of the high standards we’ve created and that people choose to return to stay within us year after year.
And then 2020 came and silence washed over the park. Everyone was told to stay at home, holidays were cancelled and we faced a very different season.
It was at this point we decided we couldn't stand still. We revved up our internal engines and donned our natural reserves of optimism.
We’ve used the time to upgrade and improve our log cabins, we’ve plans to add balconies to some of the lodges that enjoy lakeside views, and we’ve refreshed our reception area while generally spending months tending to our extensive grounds so that when guests arrive in 2021 - they experience a stay that surpasses all expectations.
We’re surrounded by other great local businesses, grand castles, public houses and restaurants who have also mirrored our fighting spirit and made their offerings for visitors to the area better than ever before. You can explore some of these in our “Discover the Area” page.
We are looking forward to 2021 being a season like no other, where we can help couples, friends and families create some amazing memories!
