Plenty of flat walkways, gorgeous scenery and the welcome of local cafes, restaurants and of course the welcome stop of a traditional public house!

Elvaston Castle  
Stride out across the road form Beechwood Park and you’ll find yourself immersed in the grounds of the impressive and captivating Elvaston castle Country Park. Set in 321 acres of woodlands and grounds it’s a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Whether it’s walking, cycling, horse riding, enjoying a picnic or exploring the nature reserve we find our guests visit time and time again. The café located here makes for a welcome stop along the way.

 

Ockbrook
Again – a great walking venture to discover the local village of Ockbrook, which is renowned for its great selection of pubs and eateries. 
Enjoy the best Tapas in town at the White Swan, tuck into homemade pizza’s at the  Cross Keys or maybe a more traditional option is for you served at both the Queens Head and Royal Oak! 

 

Derby
Derby continues to lure visitors to enjoy its historic shopping streets of Sadlergate, with designer shops and a good range of eateries. If you’re looking to dive into the city’s history, then Derby Museum, Cathedral and Mills are a must. Want to fit in a spot of retail shopping and enjoy a coffee then the INTU centre with its large clothes shops and coffee stops is definitely worth a visit. For your entertainment, The Derby Playhouse and Assembly Rooms provide a wide range of shows and entertainment.

Alton Towers
Alton Towers is the largest theme park in the UK and for those seeking thrills and spills a visit here is a must! With a theme park, water park, spa and mini golf you’re guaranteed a great day out.

 

Heights of Abraham
Based in Matlock, you can take a ride in the cable cars to enjoy stunning views and dine in the Vista restaurant or Terrace café.

 

Dovedale and the Derbyshire Stepping Stones
No one visiting Derbyshire should miss out on the opportunity to visit Dovedale and venture across its waters on the Derbyshire stepping stones. Enjoy the miles of walks that take you through this stunning site of natural beauty. Visitors often choose to combine their visit with climbing Thorpe Cloud.

 

Carsington Water
Enjoy the circular walk at Carsington Waters or hire a bike to enjoy the surrounding scenery and wildlife. Water sports such as paddle sports, rowing, sailing and windsurfing can also be enjoyed on the waters here, with equipment available to hire from its onsite shop.

Gulliver’s Kingdom
Gulliver’s Kingdom is a theme park specifically designed for families. With themed play areas and various rides it’s a great day out for the whole family!

 

Bakewell
Bakewell is famous for its delicious Pudding and the local bakeries here are always fully stocked on a daily basis! It’s also well known for its fish and chips and full complement of charity shops. 

 

Ashbourne
Known for its Tudor and Georgian heritage this beautiful market town lures visitors from near and far. On the edge of the Peak District, with numerous, eateries and designer shops it’s a perfect way to spend a day exploring.  

 

Crich Tramway Village
Travel back in time when you visit the Crich Tramway Village. Set within a recreated period village visitors can explore some 60 trams, as working pub, old school sweet shop and tram depots. It’s a day our brining with nostalgia. 

 

Chatsworth House
